Meet Carla! 

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here! 

Let me share a little about myself.

I got my first taste of dog training through the 4H Dog Project as a Cloverbud (about 5 years old), and really enjoyed training first our family Keeshond, Smokey, then later my own little pack of Rottweilers, Bigfoot, Two-Toes, Jibber and Jabber. At 15 years old, I talked my parents info letting me purchase a pair of Rottweilers and began raising puppies as my FFA project throughout high school. For years as a kid I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. I had the opportunity to shadow at a local vet clinic when I was about 16, and was soon hired to work at the clinic after school and summers. It was during this time that I realized my passion for animals wasn't in the medical field, but on the behavioral side. I found an ad for a Dog Training school, toured the school, applied, attended and the rest is history! 

I have attended and certified through the following:

National K9 School for Dog Trainers in Columbus Ohio in 1998

No Limitations dog traininig school in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006

Robin MacFarlane's E-Cademy in Dubuque, Iowa in 2015

As well as multiple continued education conferences, workshops and seminars.

I am married to the love of my life, with 3 amazing kids. We live on a 20 acre hobby farm outside of Preston, Minnesota. Our resident livestock including Miniature Jersey cattle, horses, cats, Mini Rex and Flemish Giant rabbits, chickens and pigs make excellent training distractions and often provide comic relief with their silly antics. We often get to catch sight of the pair of Bald eagles that nest in one of our pastures when we are on a Pasture Walk; one of the perks provided as a Polishing Class option. 

I have nurtured a love to animals since early childhood, and am passionate about helping you have the best relationship possible with your dog!
